Abstract
|
|
|
Authors have presented a statistical observation of 711 cases of pediatric surgical patients under 15 years of age treated at Dept. of Surgery, Woo Sok University, College of Medicine during recent 10 years.
The results obtained were as follows;
1. The proportion of main diseases are as follows;
Appendicitis 27.57;0, Various accidents 25.32%, Burn 10.55 % ,
Hernia 8.72 % , Intussusception 6.18-16, Other diseases 21.66 b .
2. In the appendicitis, the ratio of male to female is 1.4 : 1. The largest number of cases are from 10 to 12 years of age (41.8% ).
3. In the various accident, the sex ratio is 2.5 : 1 (M:F) and the largest number of cases are from 13 to 15 years of age (28.9 % ).
4. In the burn, the ratio of male to famale is 1 : 1.1 and the most frequent age group is from the birth up to 3 years of age (56% ).
5. In the hernia, the ratio of male to female is 19.7 : 1 and the largest number of cases are from the birth up to 3 years of age (46.8%).
6. In the intussusception, the sex ratio is 1.8 : 1 (M: F) and the most frequent age group is from birth up to 3 years of age (65.9 % ).
